18 month check-up

Ethan had his 18 month check up today as well as we went over a few other things that has been going on with him. He weighs 25 lbs 13 oz and is 31 1/2 in long. He is doing good overall as far as his growth. He does have a mild case of ezema on his face that flairs up from time to time so the Dr gave us some medicine to help with it when it becomes irritated. The Dr was happy to see him walking and to hear that he is being seen my the development specialist once a month.

Ethan is now walking more than crawling. The only time he really crawls is when he falls down and has to crawl to his next destination to stand back up and walk again. He is also becoming ver independent going into his own room and playing for several minutes and then returning back to where ever Shauna and I might be. He can now say the following word: (many of which he says when he wants to not on command lol) mom, more, up, go, fishy, uncle, sky, whats that, ahh man, whats this....so hes up to 12 words which I guess isnt to bad since he just started talking like 2 weeks ago. He also knows how to take his socks off, point at mommy's eye, knows that a dog barks, will walk to the door if you tell him we are going bye bye, and will walk to his highchair when he is hungry. His food of choice is very slim right now, he is a very very picky eater but from what I read that is normal. He prefers anything with bread. His favorite is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He will eat chicken or hamburger meat on occasion, carrots, oranges, strawberries, grape, and green beans all when he feels like it. Loves crackers, pancakes, poptarts and anything sweet...but i try to stay away from super sweets only giving them to him during certain occasions. He is trying to learn to use a spoon still having a hard time, and he still gets his paci whenever he wants. ;o( Its hard for me to take it away from him but once he is walking all the time I think its going to go. He will not let us read to him ever! Loves to watch his Cars movie or any other cartoon for that matter. He wont see the Dr again until Oct. unless hes sick or nething and the special teacher will come again July 11th.

The rest of this week and weekend will be very busy for me because we are throwing dad(shauna's dad) a 50th b-day bash at angelas house so this will probably be my only post this week. Here are a few pics from fathers day as well!! enjoys!!

♥♥♥AMAZING HOW SOMETHING SO SMALL CAN BECOME SO BIG♥♥♥

18 months old

Well the time has come that my precious little baby is going to be 18 months old, 1 and 1/2 yrs OMG!!!! Where has the time gone?!?! I ask myself all the time what happened to my little baby, where mommy's little boy ;o( Well I guess hes not that little anymore, and sure I can still cuddle with him but hes becoming so much more independent!!!! Pushing my hand away when he want to tell me he doesnt want my help, walking around the house like he doesnt want me to carry him anymore, and feeding himself because mommy just doesnt do it right. Yep thats my BIG boy!!!

As I look back and think about the last 2 years, it was only 6 days from now that we tried to conceive our little man, and it worked the 1st time. Then to be blessed with twins, oh my! What did god have in store for us we thought. The pregnancy was hard and painful but worth every minute of it. The 1st time we heard their heartbeats, the 1st time they kicked me, the 1st time Shauna saw them kick! There were so many 1st time , yet their were also so many things I wish never happened. I know everything happens for a reason and I have come to terms with that but its days like this, when I look back at all that Ethan has become and cant help but think what would Evan have been doing as well. I remember the cat like cry my little man made as he came out and how he never had a bad day in the NICU just to prove all of those nurses wrong who told mommies he would. He got to come home on my b-day how cool is that. We watched him learn how to drink from a bottle, grab at his toys, eat baby food, sit up, crawl, and now oh my walking. It seems like just yesterday when I was holding his 2lb body and praying to god to keep him here with me. I guess god did have a plan for us, he wanted us to enjoy the motherhood of twins but only in the womb. Feel the pain, sorrow, joy, hate, love, rejoice, resentment, and so much more in a single day. He wanted us to love a little person so much that words cant even describe how much we love him; and he wanted to prove to us that no matter how many kids we have angels or living that we are awesome mommies and should be very proud of what we have accomplished and become so far.

Ethan is an amazing little boy!! He has soooooo many people that love him so much and if you looked at him today you would have no idea that just 1 yr and 6 months ago he was born 1 lb 15 0z. He has learned so much in such a short period of time and will continue to grow and learn as each day passes. He is my pride, my joy, my everything and without him in my life I wouldnt be the person I am today. He has taught me so much about myself and about others in my life. Who is important to me and who I can kick to the curb. No matter how bad of a day I have I can walk through that door and he will put a smile on my face from ear to ear! ;o) He knows how to make mommies laugh and of coarse how to push mommies buttons. We have such a long journey ahead of us and I love waking up each day to see what today will bring. I love you Ethan!!

Evan you are my knight in shining angel from above. You have made mommy become so strong!! I know when to be weak and when to just love you for you. There is not a day that goes by that I dont look at you, up there in a picture frame next to your brother and all your angels. You are truly the light in my eye and the tear upon my face. You brighten up my day and make me believe that no matter what happens in this world you will always be looking down upon us and holding your wings around us, embracing us in your safety. I love you very very much and cant believe that it was this day the 18th 1 yr and 6 months ago that you decided your time was finished here on Earth and in mommy's belly and it was now time for mommies to meet you and your brother. Thank you for making me so strong!! I know I need all the strength I can get with your crazy brother around lol ;o) I love you my precious son!

Time goes by so quickly and in the blink of an eye it is a new year, new things happening, and new beginning starting or stories just becoming more chapters to my novel of life. Life goes on in times of crisis, people are there in times of need, you can cry when you need to be sad, and laugh when you need to be happy. All in all the things we do each day make us a better person for tomorrow. I love my boys with all my heart and look forward to each upcoming day with my precious BIG boy bubba ;o) Good night all xoxoxo ♥

ETHAN FELL AND BUSTED HIS LIP ;O( Im sooooo sad about it. Shauna text me while I was still at work ad said your not going to be to happy about this but Ethan fell had a bloody nose and busted his lip. ;o( Then sent me a pic of it ;o( I feel so bad for him, I know hes a little boy and Im sure will get hurt MANY MANY more times but I was still so sad my baby hurt himself. Here is a couple pics of his sore big lip ;o(

Ok well since Ive already posted alot of what has been happening this last week, I probably wont have much to say here lol. ne who....this coming up weekend is father's day so we plan to go to shauna's dads to celebrate with them and mike & ang. Then the following week is dad's 50th birthday party that we cant wait for, then the 4th of July. Ethan has a Dr. Appointment on the 23rd for his 18 mnth checkup. In 4 days my baby will be 18 months old...omg a year and a half I cant believe it. I will be posting a blog on friday to kind of relect on the past 2 yrs since I found out I was pregnant. ;o) Ethan is getting sooooo much better walking, doing it more and more all over the place. I will take another video probably this week.

Teacher Play Date

On sat, Ethan had his appointment with his developmental teacher, who will come to the house once a month to play with him show me some things I can do to help him progress and just overall things that can bring his adjusted age closer to his actual age. She played with him for 45 mins she said nething more than that is usually a waste of time because the kid will get bored and not focus. She did things like stack blocks with him, ask him to do things, as well as singing to him with animal noises. She was very shocked to see him play with legos for more than a couple mins, she said his attention span should last no more than min and a half maybe two mins and he managed to stay at the blocks for about 10 mins before getting bored. She said his cognative skills are awesome and he does very well when u tell him how to do something or show him u usually dont have to repeat yourself. She also said his walking looks like it is progressing and by the next time she comes back he should be walking fully and she will help him with other things like balance, standing on one leg and running(eeekkk). If hes not walking all the time by then, she will show me ways to help him. She will be back on July 11th. She also was very shocked when she started singing E.I.E.I. O( with an oink,oink here and an oink oink there) and he crawled over to his farmer toy and pulled the lever that sang the exact same song. Overall he had a very good appointment. I am so proud of him ;o)

This isnt my post for the week its just a little xtra post, and Im going to be super busy this weekend so if I forget to post then this makes up for it hehe. Ethan is becoming quiet the little walker. He is getting really good at going from place to place and realizing that he can pull himself up and then walk where he wants to go. He's pretty good about catching his balance as well unless hes trying to bend down to pick something up then he kinda falls on his butt. I think by the end of June begining of July he will be a pro ;o) Nothing else has really changed since my last post I will take more time later to write. OMG He's starting to walk....

OK so lets start with the obvious! hehe, He is starting to walk!!! He is not completely mobile, but he can go from couch to kitchen table or couch to other couch, etc. He loves to walk when no one is paying attention and refuses to walk when we want him to lol. He has probably gotten up to like 10-15 steps ;o) So we are making some major progress!!! woohoo. I am also starting to try and let him use a spoon to feed himself, this is hard for me as you all know Im a neat freak and him throwing mashed potatoes all over my kitchen doesnt sound like fun to me but I know he needs to learn so I am letting go ;o) He loves to brush his teeth too; he thinks it is soooo much fun! The last week or so he has been kinda sicky boy, runny nose, coughing today, and some definate runny #2's sorry TMI. If he doesnt get better over the weekend he will go to Dr on monday or tuesday. He got his latest toy in the mail-which is a lil kawasaki quad that is from power wheels I will post pics tomorrow of him riding it if he cooperates ;o) Shaunas has been working graves, not to bad but really hard on her, we do get to have dinner together every night however which I like ;o). She tired alot but thats understandable, just trying to make time for family time. Nothing else has really been happening, father's day(which Ethan celebbrates with his uncle and papa) is coming up real quick and he has play date with development people on the 13th as well as dr appt on the 22nd I think...Here are some new pics and videos enjoy ;o) Have a good night and I will try to post new pics of the quad right and get a good video of him walking(the one i have is way to dark) Night ♥
