Our first Mother's Day as mommies of 3 kids now ♥ Mother's Day was at our house as always its kind of a tradition guess its cause we have the most moms lol anyway we had an amazing set up of food, BBQ chicken, shrimp, potato salad, veggie skews, and so much more. I also made a yummy dessert pizza that everyone just loved. McKenzie was good and got held most of the time by everyone in the family :) Ethan and Uncle Mike played some T-ball which got us thinking maybe he needs to play T-ball next year he hits the ball pretty darn good and can throw good we just have to work on catching with him. Everyone got great presents, lotions, body sprays, and candles. I had a headache so I even got to take a nice little nap while Auntie Angela & Shauna kept an eye on McKenzie so I could sleep, it was a great nap lol just what mom needs on Mother's Day. Im so blessed to have such a great family and that we are so close. We always have an amazing time together and make the best memories ever!! ♥

Aquarium of the Pacific
Today we ventured out and took the kids to the Aquarium of the Pacific, yes we took both kids to a public place together alone lol We were a tad bit scared to take McKenzie out to such a big place so little because she couldn't come out of her car seat for fear of germs but we did it anyway! Ethan had such a great time going over to the different tanks and telling us what kind of fish or sea creature was in it, he knew a lot of them before we even told him. :) He touched a a starfish and a few other sea life which he has never done before, he's always been to scared so I was very happy that he even attempted it. Ethan & I went into the bird room to feed the birds nectar and none of the birds even wanted to eat it made me mad so we went over by 2 birds where I got them to actually take some nectar and one jumped on my arm I was ok with that until I was ready to leave so I took him over to the post for him to get off me and he bit me!! it hurt like heck and I was even madder than before when they wouldn't eat from me lol I'm pretty sure I wont be feeding the birds ever again. McKenzie did great she slept most of the time and when she was awake she didn't fuss or even want out of her car seat I guess that's the joys of her being a newborn she doesn't want to always look around lol Overall we had a really good time, we went to Bubba Gumps and ate dinner, we always love doing that hehe and then we headed home. Our first family outing on a mini trip was a good experience yay!!
McKenzie's 2 week check up
At her two week checkup she was 8lbs 7oz which we wanted her to get back to her birth weight by this time so she was doing great breastfeeding. She was 20 inches long and the Dr said she was just perfect. He felt her belly looked in her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc. and said she looked great! She will go back on June 20th for her 1st round of shots and then again on July 3rd for the 2nd set, we chose to separate her shots so she only gets 3 at a time which makes us feel better about giving her so many shots at such a young age.

McKenzie's Birth Story
It's April 15th, 2013 and our lives are about to change for the better. I woke up at 5am so that I could shower and finish some last minute preparation before we meet our little princess. We were to be at the hospital by 7am so we left at 630am, Ethan was already at Grandma Lorrie & Papa's house because he spent the night over there, on our way to the hospital we kept making jokes about turning around and driving far away and that she can stay in my belly forever lol Upon arriving at the hospital we went to Labor & Delivery and checked in, they had me sign several papers and we waited to be called back. Since I was a planned c-section we were set up in the triage area where they had me give them blood, change my clothes, and get an IV(which took 3 different times ughh) they told us that they were running alittle behind so we wouldn't go in til about 10am instead of 9am. Th anesthesiologist came in and explained to me what medicine she was going to give me and I explained I wanted to be awake and alert thru it all, she was very supportive of that decision and said she wouldn't give me anything extra unless I request it. Angela came to visit and stayed with us the whole time, she even stayed at the hospital the whole time I was in surgery and recovery so she could meet McKenzie as soon as it was physically possible. :) IT WAS TIME!!! They walked me back to the OR, introduced me to the other nurses and staff that would be helping in my procedure and started to prep me for the spinal. They wrapped me up, put in the spinal and laid me down. It took a while for the spinal to travel and there was a long period of time that I could still feel them hooking me up and prepping my belly. The iodine was cold and I started to tingle. I began to get worried that they were going to forget about Shauna and she would miss it and just as these feelings arose in walked my wonderful wife, kissing me on the forehead and asking how I am doing. After a few minutes, lots of tugging & pulling, McKenzie was making her grand appearance!! She came out screaming, I saw them lift her over the curtain and take her to the warmer bed, Shauna then left my side and went over to see her where she pee'd on the nurses 2 different times lol Shauna kept saying how beautiful she was and smiling from ear to ear. Seeing the overwhelming joy on her face is a picture in my memory I will never forget. I was an emotional wreck and crying like a big baby trying to wipe my tears thru all the cords I had around me. Shauna was able to get her first cry on video and even thou it was only 6 secs it was the sweetest 6 seconds of sound ever. They wrapped her up all warm and brought her to me, she was absolutely beautiful and I loved her ever so much already. I was able to kiss her little face and touch her and then they were off to the recovery room while they finished sewing me back up. I could hear her crying the whole time, she had a big ol' set of lungs on her! After about 10 minutes I went into the recovery room with them where they took assessments of her and myself. She was able to nurse within 30 minutes of being born and I had feeling in my legs about 30-45 minutes after I got to the recovery room, the nurses said that it was very quick! The rest of the day was amazing and everyone came to meet her-Auntie Angela, Grandma Lorre, Papa, Big Brother, Cousin, and Uncle Mike. They all adored her and were in love ♥. We remained in the hospital for 3 nights, 4 days. She did a great job nursing and latching on and even though she lost quite a bit of weigh(which is normal) her jaundice levels were excellent and she was just perfect in every way possible! I healed rather well of coarse in lots of pain but was up walking around and mobile fairly quickly. :)
