Father's Day 06/19/2011 ♥

Father's day this year was at Mike & Angela's house and it was such a beautiful day. The menu of the day consist of tri-tip, garlic mashers, veggie skewers, garlic bread along with salsa and ranch dip. :) I made Mike & Dad (Shauna's dad) baskets that included t-shirt, sunflower seeds, alcohol, coozies, pictures, and candy ;o) We had such an amazing time and I am so blessed to have all of Shauna's family in my life and to have them so close to me and accept me as one of their own. Ethan played in his pool, we had a few drinks, we talked, we laughed, and we played Quelf which is the funnest most hilarious game I have ever played and of coarse I took a few pics of us playing also :o) Happy father's Day to all the amazing dads out there and good job Mike & dad for being the fathers that you are!!!

IE Food Truck Festival 11'

Saturday we popped our food truck cherry by going to our first ever food truck festival!! FOOD TRUCKS ARE AMAZING!!! The event was in Ontario at the Citizens Business Bank Arena from 11am-6pm. We've been watching Eat St. on the Travel channel for some time now and have been following some of them on Twitter but never actually made it down to taste any of the food until last Saturday!! The event was soooo much fun and the food was sooooo yummy!! Our plan of attack was to definitely eat at the Grilled Cheese Truck and then of coarse try to get a few other dishes from other trucks that seemed good, by the time we got over to the Grilled Cheese truck, which by the way we were there at 1030 before they even opened, Shauna had to wait in line for over an hour! The wait however was definitely worth it, Shauna had a plain and simple American cheese grilled cheese and I had a mac & cheese w/ cheddar grilled cheese :o) During the wait in the llllloooooonnnnnggggg line Ethan and I went around to look for more yummy food; we picked up some cheeseballs w/ homemade ranch from the Cheeseball Wagon & we got a chocolate chip Italian icee from Tango Mango. We of coarse ate these while waiting for the grilled cheese. Next up was Baconmania- we had pb & j bites wrapped in hickory smoked bacon & whole jalapenos stuffed w/ cheddar cheese wrapped in hickory smoked bacon with chipotle hot sauce on top.....Mmmmmmmmm.....we also went to the Twisted Burger and got a double cheeseburger as well as Me So Hungry and got a pulled pork slider w/ sweet glazed onions and a spare rib slider w/ crunchy onions. We were there approximately 4 hrs and even thou it seems like we ate so much food most of it we shared so we actually werent that stuffed it was just right. Since this trip of ours we started following more food trucks and decided to go to a couple more festivals and follow food trucks when we have some extra time on our hands :o) If you have not had food from a food truck(not a roach coach) but an actual FOOD TRUCK you definitely NEED to try it!!!

♥ Friday Date Day ♥

I absolutely ♥ LOVE ♥ our date days we have together just the wifey & I. This past Friday, June 17th, Shauna's mom was so kind to watch Ethan all day and keep him overnight for us so we could have one last date night before I went back to work. Being off work for three months has changed the way we live so we are actually quite sad about my returning in terms of all the fun family stuff we did together during this time. We decided to make this date day special and take full advantage of the entire day. First we decided to go to for lunch, we both had shrimp & lobster and OMG it was delicious; after lunch it was time to burn some of those calories lol at
We had a blast we did two games of 18 holes, Shauna won once and I won the other time; we have not laughed that much at each other in such a long time. I even tripped and snorted Mtn Dew up my nose from laughing so much lmao.....I had no idea that a 26 & 27 year old could have so much fun at a kids miniature golf place. It was now time to go home and relax....we sat outside with Star for a little while and then went inside to watch "Why Not" w/ Shania Twain, half way thru the show Shauna said "Lets go somewhere!!" so we began our search for a lookout spot that overlooked the city and allowed us to see the stars. We found a nice quiet location in a turn around dirt area off Apple Valley Rd, sat there with our music playing, and me with a beer in hand and just looked out over the city at all the beautiful lights. We stayed there for about 2 hrs just enjoying the peace and quiet and loving each other!!

Back to work.....

I go tomorrow!! It has been a very blessed and amazing 3 months and it is now time for me to resume work and continue on this journey I have set out for myself. I am actually quite positive about my return to work and think that I will now be able to handle my job and succeed the way I was previously before my stressful breakdown. I have learned a thing or two about myself over the last 3 months as well as how to deal with certain things that use to stress me out and make me anxious, yet now I have the skills to deal with those things on a day by day basis and learn from what I am going thru rather than letting my experience entrap me in the negativeness. I am very happy to be getting comp checks again so we can start saving for our homes again as well as pay off a few things to prepare for Shauna to become a stay at home mom full time if she wishes :o) I will continue to blog mostly once a week it may be more depending on my feelings and I have a few posts that I will do today because we had such an amazing last weekend together as a family before my return. I look forward to what the future holds and will take it as it comes!! ♥

Spur of the moment trip....

to VEGAS!!!! Since I am going back to work soon we decided it was time to visit my family because we havent been out to see them since Nov 2010; therefore it was time for a visit! We went out there on Monday and came home on Thursday afternoon. It was a very nice visit and I was able to see all of my family. On Monday we went to my grandma's house for a little bit then later that evening went to see my sister, Courtney, & Amber's new place. They recently moved to a 2 bedroom-2 story town home on the west side of town. Their home is super cute and they have the cutest little dogs I just wanted to steal them lol Ethan loves to see his Auntie Courtney & Amber because they come out to visit us so much he remembers them and its the cutest thing. Tuesday was family day, we took Ethan to watch the airplanes land at Mcarran Airport and then it was time for dinner. The entire family came to grandmas house and visited for a few hours catching up on each others lives and what was going on in the world. Wednesday was a super busy day....picked up my cousin Karli from school and took her to brunch as well as back to grandmas to visit, then we went to the children's museum for about 2 1/2 hours, back to my grandmas to visit more with my littlest sister Chloe & my grandma, then back to Courtney's house for some more sister time. :o) Thursday was pretty quick just a nice breakfast with my grandma and my mom and back home we came. I love seeing them and getting to visit because we dont do it that often however Im glad my sister Courtney comes out to visit me from time to time so I dont have to go out and see everyone all the time lol Enjoy the pics from our trip as well as slideshow so I could include more! :o)

Soccer season is over....

June 4th was the last day of his soccer season this year and in some ways I am glad but I am also sad because he was such a little cutie out their on the field. His last game he didnt do much of playing like always lol but after the game we went to a park near by for his soccer party. They had pizza for the kids and he was given his team pictures as well as a cute trophy with his name on it. He did really good for being a 3 yr old playing a team sport and I know next year when we try out T-ball he will do good there also but until then we are just going to take a break from sports until next spring and will just have fun summer days at home. ;o)
