Preparing for Easter

Today we decided to color Easter eggs with Ethan and did it all before Shauna had to leave for work. We boiled 12 eggs and I kept 4 for myself to decorate because I'm a kid at heart lol. Ethan did a great job decorating them and after we decided to make Easter cookies also. We used different cookie cutters and then put frosting and sprinkles on them. It was tons of fun and Ethan was so excited to do holiday festivities. I cant wait until Sunday, Easter and to see his eyes when he hunts for eggs and sees his Easter basket. :)

Scooter Weekends

Going on scooter rides together is Shauna & Ethan's favorite past time on the weekends, I usually sit back in a chair and watch them but I think its so cool that they are enjoying so much time together and loving every minute of it. I know well be really busy when McKenzie comes and I just want Ethan to still feel involved. He's getting so good at his scooter action and he's only been practicing a few weeks :)

36 week Dr appt.

Today was our 36 week Dr. appointment which was very very quick! The appointment only lasted about 30 minutes which shocked us but we were so happy it was a quick one. My blood pressure was awesome, urine sample was good and I only gained 1 pound woohoo McKenzie is measuring 37 weeks and is 6lbs 5 oz. I have to do my pre-op blood work and tests in the next week or 2 and I was suppose to see the cardiologist to give me a medical release for the surgery but they called and canceled my appointment so I should get him to see him in the next few days otherwise I think Ill have more pre-op tests than usual. She said I'm looking good, McKenzie is looking good and were almost done! :) We are now on weekly appointments so next one is on April fools. Here's to being 9 months prego!! yay!!!

1st pool trip of the year

Yes its the first weekend of Spring and we were already hanging out in the pool, soaking up the sun, and enjoying some amazing BBQ and smoked food. We went to Jeff & Melody's house and hung out there all Sunday with a few friends as well as Mike & Angela. Ethan turned into a little fish he was walking around the steps and floating in a tire raft, went back and forth from pool to spa and he just enjoyed every minute of it, he loved Jeff's smoked pork ribs he told Jeff he was the best cook ever lol I didn't do much swimming I just kept my feet in the pool but the day was very relaxing ;)

35 weeks

28 days to go!!! OMG already less than a month!! eeeekkkk This week I started my NSTs(Non-stress tests) where they monitor her heartbeat, check for contractions, and do a quick ultrasound to measure her amniotic fluid levels and check her kidneys and bladder. I go in every Tuesday and every Friday until shes born, this week she passed with flying colors at both tests. :) Her movements have been stronger and a little more painful on my side. I have been nesting a little more going into the closet and deep cleaning the closet as well as making sure the house is clean every day one of my fears is that Ill go into labor and the house will be a mess so its staying clean the next 3 weeks lol great week overall minus the contractions that I had at the very beginning of the week.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and since it was Sunday and Shauna was off we made it into a fun filled family day. We woke up and put on our green so we couldn't pinch each other hehe we had to run a few errands and then it was time to play and hang out. Shauna made bacon wrapped hot dogs for lunch on the BBQ which were amazing!!! After lunch we went to the front of the house and Shauna and Ethan rode around on scooters while Star and I hung out and got some sun. We were outside for probably 6 hours or so total but it was so much fun. We drank Slurpee's, ate grapes, blew bubbles, and just had a great family day on St. Patty's Day!!!

Contractions, OH MY!

I now can say that I admire any woman that is able to have a natural vaginal birth and take no medications because after having contractions for the last 3 days, which thank goodness they are dying down today but Ill start at the beginning. This past Thursday and Friday I started feeling uncomfortable with some mild cramping in the lower abdominal area and just been really tired, I of coarse chalked it up to just being 8 1/2 months pregnant and its normal. Saturday came and I was woken up around 540am with some really strong pains in my lower belly, lower back, and hip area. I laid in bed for about 20 minutes and started feeling them often the pain would start as cramping in my tummy travel around to my back and then down my thighs and it was lasting around 45 seconds to a minute. We had our maternity tour at the hospital in a few hours so I started getting ready as I continued to have the pains every 10-15 minutes approx but they  were lasting the same amount of time. After the tour was over Shauna asked the nurse what she thought we should do and she said we should go to labor and delivery to get checked out. Labor and Delivery hooked me up to all the machines and I let them know that because of my possible heart issue I do not want any medication to stop contractions because of the risk of it hurting my heart or causing me distress so they just monitored me. I was having contractions every 5-7 minutes and they were lasting about a minute long, she said that if she was to only look at my strip that it looks like I was in active labor however I wasn't dilated at all so the Dr said he couldn't do anything besides to send me home and if they become stronger and still lasting just as long to come back. We went home and I continued to drink water as well as rest as much as I could. The contractions were coming every 3-4 minutes and the pain level did go up so we decided to go back to the hospital, while there she said they were about every 7 minutes and I was still not dilated so she called the Dr back again and he said that unless my contractions were making me double over and in constant tears that I don't need to come back and that he wouldn't consider me in active labor until I get to 4cm which is when he would do the c-section, so home we went. I continued to have pains though out the night then Sunday things started to let up a bit, I was getting some stabbing pains on my right side that felt more like a charlie horse instead of a contraction and I was able to get up and move around and by today I am feeling much better, I'm still crampy and have back pain and I still feel a contraction here and there but definitely not consistent and frequent. This little girl was just testing me and showing me what its like for mommy's to be in labor pain, little stinker. I'm hoping she continues to bake until at least 37 weeks and even making it to her c- section date would be ideal but well see. I feel like she has dropped alittle bit as I have more room to breathe and wonder if that's why I have so much cramping. Gotta keep baking little Miss McKenzie ♥

McKenzie's Room

is officially done being decorated! There are some bare walls that I plan to fill as time goes on but I cant decide what I want to put on them so I'm not rushing it. I also need one picture for a frame that's already up so hopefully we can take a couple pictures so we can fill it! Everything has been purchased that we need up until shes around 5-6 months after that well need some more toys and things for her to play with and of coarse we'll need diapers and wipes before then also but for the most part we are pretty darn set and just waiting for her arrival :) I just love everything about her room and could not be happier.

34 weeks

A little over a month left and its starting to become more and more real! I have had some pretty bad acid reflux this week along with some unwanted acne. McKenzie has been pushing her whole little body on the right side so when she all snug in her spot she hurts my ribs, pulls on my lower belly and just makes me very sore. I have for the first time the other night complained about being uncomfortable. I have had a lot of pressure on my pelvic bone as well as some back pain when I'm walking around to much. She gets the hiccups on a daily basis and she actually has them as I am typing right now :) The warm weather has also caused some swelling on my ankles and feet it will get better when I rest but the other day they were pretty large lol 5 more weeks to go ♥

Symptoms:
heartburn

School searching ALREADY!

Recently it has been brought to our attention that its time to get our booties in gear and start thinking about Ethan going to Kindergarten. We have always know that he was going to go to a Charter school right down the street from our house, we were ready to camp out and wait to be one of the few slots available for Kinder classes however when I called to get the enrollment information they informed me it has been changed to lottery(meaning that they put all the enrolling kids into a bucket basically and pull names out until they reach the amount of kids they need to fill that grade level) this devastated us and for once we now feel like he may not get into that school and that we are stuck looking at additional schools with great test scores, with awesome teachers, with no ghettoness, and that doesn't tolerate bullying. Shauna and I began asking other parents what their opinions were and how they liked their schools. We managed to narrow our list down to 7 schools and we are planning on enrolling in all seven of them because I don't want the school names listed on a public website I'm going to call our 1st choice- School A, 2nd choice- School B, 3rd choice- School C, 4th choice-School D, 5th choice-School E, 6th choice-School F, and 7th choice-School G as I'm explaining things further. School A we can not enroll until April 15th and we wont find out if we got in until the 1st week of May. I have already enrolled him into School B, I had to sit outside from 530am until 900am so I could be one of the 1st people and I have to say that it has totally paid off. Ethan had his assessment test today where they asked him shapes, colors, numbers, ABC's, and his name and he passed everything with flying colors!!! He has to now learn the alphabet sounds and 3 dimensional shapes but he knew what he was suppose to and we also got told that he has made it into the PM kindergarten class and that he is #1 on the waiting list for AM kindergarten there. (we prefer AM for our schedules) School B has the highest test scores in our area 933 out of 1000! they are uniform based and I really really liked it there. School C hes already enrolled but #25 on the waiting list and its all day so we aren't holding on to it. School D we are now skipping, School E we are now skipping as both schools are all day kinder and since School B is guaranteed we don't need them as backups. School E we enroll April 9th and find out by May, and lastly School F is also ideal for us because AM and PM classes are both really early and will work for us so we enroll there April 15th and find our the1st week of May also.

I am beyond stoked and so proud of him that he did so well on his test and that he has gotten into one of the best schools here so even if School A doesn't work out of us, at least we know he will be able to attend an awesome school. I will update on all the school stuff probably in May as well know more then. I am sad he is growing up but seeing him today made me so proud to be his mommy and I know he will excel in whatever he tries in life!! I'm about to be the mommy of a KINDERGARTNER eeeeekkkkk

It's Official......

I'm a Williams!!! I know the blog is called The Williams Family and Ive always considered myself to be a Williams however for the past 9 years since Shauna and I started dating my lat name has always been Kelly, well today it is finally made official and my last name has been changed. I went to court this morning because even though we are domestic partners, even though we are the parents of our children, even though we have been together longer than some heterosexual couples we still CAN NOT get married so changing my name is not something as simple as someone who has a marriage license. I started the process about 6 weeks ago, had to have a wonderful paralegal help me because I didn't know where to begin, put an ad in the paper, and pay a butt load of court fees but it was all worth it to be able to say that I have the same last name as my wife, as my son, and as my soon to be daughter. It feels amazing to know that I am now Ms. Williams :) hehe I got a call today from someone asking for Mrs. Williams because it was in regards to Ethan and this was the first time I could say "This is her" and actually mean it YAY!!!!! So now we are officially THE WILLIAMS FAMILY even though Ive always been a Williams ;)

34 week Check up

Today's appointment was very routine and easy going which I like! My blood pressure and urine were all good as always. The Dr wanted me to make sure I saw the Cardiologist to get medical clearance before my actual c-section and I got the approval last week. I have an appointment with them on 3/25 so little miss has to continue to bake! McKenzie is measuring a week ahead still and is at 5lbs 11oz she was moving around like crazy and it was determined that if she tries to come we will not allow the Drs to give me anything to stop contractions because of my heart and we will allow her to come and put our hands in the NICU staff at St. Marys. I however don't think shell be coming early :) Great appt! I have a NST this Friday with the specialist and then I go back to see the OB again on 3/25 in the morning. Here's to another 2 weeks and lets hope they are more smooth sailing than the last 2!!!

33 weeks

Whew 33 weeks has been much better to me than 32 weeks lol I am now back to enjoying my pregnancy and starting to nest more. I have been preparing McKenzie's room getting everything put into its correct spot and just feeling accomplished. I cant believe that she will be here in 6 weeks....that's 42 days......eeeekkkkk I know we will be ready but we are getting more and more nervous as the time approaches closer.  I have the worse ankles ever but managed to keep them under control for the last 8 months, well that all ended the other day. I was stepping off the curb into the street and BAM my ankle have out on me and I went to the ground :( I used my right leg to catch all my weight and I landed on my hands and my right knee so my belly didn't touch the ground at all however I did get a swollen sore ankle as well as my right hip and butt are so sore feeling like Ive done massive amounts of squats. McKenzie however has no complaints and I don't even think she knew I fell :) pretty good week overall

symptoms-
heartburn
pottying alot
pressure on my pelvic bone

Taking a moment

to enjoy the sunrise. Its not every day that I get to see the sunrise from our backyard. It was such a beautiful thing and I took pics of how beautiful it was. ENJOY!
