Newest Journey

We love our journeys and where our life takes us! In February 2015, Shauna and I went to Discovery Park we walked a small trail and we talked about how awesome it would be to take our kids here, how much Bubba would love the surroundings, and how Kenz would enjoy the bumpy trails. We talked about how one day this "could be" our home and the life we live....here we were in Feb 2015

Now fast forward 6 months......Here we are!!! We did it we made the change, we took the leap of faith that this would be our new life and the future that we always wanted for our children. Im still in ahhhh that this is real that we are here, we are living it and we are going to make this the best chapter of our life!! Ethan loved the beach front, Kenzie loved the trails and the hills. We completed a 2.8 mile trail that went all around Discovery Park and even dipped our toes into the Puget Sound!

Since we were already in Seattle we decided to take a quick trip over to Pikes Place Market so the kids could experience the fresh fish, fresh flowers, and just overall atmosphere of the Market Place we didn't stay long as we were tired and because its in Downtown Seattle there are a little more homeless than we want to be around so we made our rounds and headed back to our protected little community on the Eastside lol

About the new job.....

I thought I'd take a moment to explain what I do and where I do it! I am currently going through a very vigorous training course that will last me 15-18 months to complete it. I have went on two ride-alongs with the police departments and one with a Station in our fire district. I also went on a marine ride-along in a patrol boat! Such an awesome experience. The first 10ish weeks of my new job is learning our geographical region, what call signs are, what different departments do, and call types so I can be released to be a Call Receiver. I will then take a Radio training in about 6 months from now learning to be on Police Radio and then again in about 9 months to be on Fire Radio. I am a 911 Dispatcher!! I work for an agency that covers the Northeastern Area of King County. I love every minute of it right now and can not wait to start taking calls and saving lives. I think the 1 thing I'm most excited about is being able to help deliver someones baby it may take me years to get that call but I'm anxiously waiting it. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to become a 911 Dispatcher and feel like this is my calling!!!

New School, New Year!

Ethan started second grade 2 weeks ago and is LOVING it. He is getting to know the school rules, when he goes to PE, Music, and the library his favorite part! This past Friday he went to the library for the first time and he has completed both of his Goosebumps books over the weekend! He had a couple assignments to teach the class and his teacher about him and its been super cute watching him as he prepares for them. We get to walk him to school everyday (well Shauna does) because we live so close to the school and he wants to walk home by himself and I'm sure one of these days we will let him. Here is a couple pictures from his first couple of days.....
